‘G’ Blinded Me With Science…

Dear HTS Community,

The Junior Technology Student Association (Jr. TSA) is up and running. This group of fourth, fifth and sixth graders meets weekly with Dr. Gervis during 0 period (before school). In a partnership with Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken and the Center for Innovation in Engineering and Science Education, our students are participating in a collaborative project called Down the Drain: How Much Water Do You Use?  Our students will analyze how much water they use at home and compare it to how much water people from other cities, states, and countries use. By collecting data on water usage from people around the world, we will be able to see how our water use compares to others and determine what we can do to use less water. As with all STEM projects, our mini-scientists will develop a hypothesis, make a prediction, conduct the experiment/gather data and then communicate their results to their peers from other schools.

Please join me in wishing them good luck!

Sincerely,

Alex Anemone
