Dear HTS Community:
At the Board of Education meeting held last night, the Board approved the Tentative 2014-2015 Harding Township School Budget. The budget will now be sent to the Executive County Superintendent and will be presented to the Harding Township community in greater detail at the May 5th BOE meeting. That meeting, also referred to as the Public Hearing, will begin at 7:30pm in the Library/Media Center. The Tentative Budget maintains our current staffing configuration as well as all co-curricular activities. Despite rising health care costs related to the Affordable Care Act and relatively flat state aid, the local tax levy will only rise 2.81% with the total budget rising only 2.01%. We thank you for your continued support and look forward to a fantastic finish to the 2013-2014 school year. Full details can be found on our website; if you have any questions about this matter, please contact me at HTS.
Lastly, since we are (almost) out of snow-day season, I would like to personally and publicly thank the Harding Township Police Department (HTPD) for their assistance throughout the winter months. During inclement weather, they help me assess road conditions during our 4:45a.m. phone call and serve as my “eyes and ears” on the ground in Harding during overnight hours.
